Cool Coffee Cafes Around GCCEC

1 October 2019

Picture perfect sunrises over instagrammable beaches are reason enough to get up early but add to that a great coffee and the day is looking pretty fabulous. We highly recommend a walk along our pristine white sand beach, coffee in hand or taking a perch at a Gold Coast café for a bountiful breakfast before heading to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ELK ESPRESSO- Al Fresco Favourite

A local favourite well before Orlando Bloom popped in for breakfast, Elk Espresso is a Broadbeach favourite for very good reason. With a lively energy and decadent seasonal meals topped with edible flowers, there’s not a lot more to be asked for in a breakfast cafe.

METRO COFFEE– Local charm aplenty

If nothing makes you feel more at home than seeing French bulldogs under tables and a few newspapers open wide, then Metro Coffee will settle you right in. Away from the main Broadbeach drag with a mini-warehouse black interior, the Breakfast Tapas Board and local feel isn’t all this place has going for it.

HAND COFFEE- Hidden gem

If it’s a great coffee you’re after, then head to HAND. Also serving yummy jaffles (the bacon and egg is our fave!) and other easy to take on the run treats. You’ll be sure to Have a A Nice Day (aka HAND) if you start your day here.

NO NAME LANE- Accidental big breakfast

Though you might go here with the smallest of intentions – a quick coffee, just one slice of avo toast. It’s very likely you’ll waddle out with two ganache pancakes and a caramel miso apple porridge under your belt. Don’t judge yourself too harshly, it’s your out-of-towner prerogative.

ALKEMIST GC- When only poached chia pears will do

There was a time when Eggs Benny was a glamorous way to start the day. But boy are those days behind us. Alkemist GC has perfected creative breakfast dining, with ingredients like tahini dressed kale, candy pistachios, and cheesy polenta all making a welcomed appearance on their menu.

PADDOCK BAKERY- The all Gold Coast experience

The 1950’s Queenslander Cottage of Paddock Bakery beckons the hungry from near and far. The break-your-diet menu is best enjoyed in the tree-filled garden, where kids high on Nutella donuts wrestle with the cafe’s tranquillity. A true sense of the Gold Coast lifestyle is what you’ll find at Paddock Bakery.

PARADOX- Coffee with a kick in Paradise

Some days you just need to start your day with single origin coffee made from fair beans of the Gedeb region of Ethiopia with tasting notes of orange, blueberry and earl grey. That’s when the crema kings at Paradox Coffee Roasters in Surfers Paradise come in handy.
