Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre Celebrates 20 Years with Annual Christmas Event
This December, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) will proudly host its 20th annual Christmas event, marking a significant milestone as the venue celebrates its 20th anniversary.
GCCEC has grown the end of year event from hosting around 600 guests in its inaugural year to welcoming 1,400 attendees in 2023, showcasing its growing popularity within the community. The event has become an enduring legacy in the Gold Coast community.
Over the past two decades, the convention centre has been a hub for thousands of domestic and international events, including world class sporting events and high-profile concerts, meaningful conventions and meetings, trade shows and exhibitions. This dynamic venue has contributed significantly to the region’s economy, attracting visitors and creating jobs.
Nick Jeffrey, Acting General Manager of GCCEC, stated, “The convention centre was a welcome addition to the Gold Coast skyline and has continued to grow in profile and impact, as has our end of year party.”
He added, “The event offers a platform for local bands such as Magic Carpet Ride, Sex and Chocolate, and popular tribute band, Killer Queen to entertain our local community. It’s also a welcome opportunity for us to showcase the Gold Coast’s iconic venue, our food, service, AV, and technology to our locals.”
The 20th annual Christmas event, Deck the Halls, takes place on December 14th at GCCEC.
