Update from GCCEC June 2023

Welcome to our June newsletter!

The past months have been busy here at the convention centre as we saw a return to event normality.

Recent highlights included:

  • hosting world-famous legends like Keith Urban and Tim Tszyu
  • serving over 2,000 guests from around the world at Australia’s largest industry 4-day event held by Tourism Australia, Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE)
  • attracting hundreds of thousands of business travellers to the Gold Coast to experience our booming coastal city

The destination continues to be a favourite of event planners attracting half of the conferences held in the state of Queensland. The city offers a growing number of accommodation options (walkable to the centre), travel access, a booming restaurant scene (did you know that we have over 23 hatted restaurants!), and multiple other reasons to stay on after events.

Our local Health and Knowledge Precinct continues to develop into a world-class resource that attracts international interest and investment and offers opportunities for legacy programmes.

We are thrilled to announce that we have received our 14-year accreditation with EarthCheck as sustainability remains a core focus here at GCCEC.  In the coming months, we look forward to releasing further client support in our shared goal of improving industry sustainability.

Finally, I’d like to invite you to take a first look at our latest video case study on the southern hemisphere’s largest pharmaceutical event (below).
