The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre Linkage Grants program will reopen on 3 February 2020, offering up to $5,000 for each successful applicant to attend a qualified conference in their professional or academic field.
Launched in 2014, Linkage Grants is an initiative of the Centre that provides the opportunity for established Queensland-based professors and academics to attend international conferences in their area of academia. The program is integral to building strong ties to international networks, with the ultimate goal of attracting valuable international conferences to our world class destination. Applicants must show that they have strong ties to industry and the potential to influence decision makers to attract conferences with 500-1000 delegates per day to the Gold Coast.
“Business events are a major contributor to economic growth and stability, and the Linkage Grant program helps identify advocates who help us secure industry conferences from around the globe,” said Sam Hills, Linkage Grants program manager.
“We work closely with our community to lobby and secure future conferences to the GCCEC. Linkage Grant recipients are recognised for their contribution to our city, at the same time as enriching their personal profile and professional development.”
