16 December 2016
At GCCEC we believe the spirit of giving isn’t seasonal, it’s something we practice all year round. Throughout 2016, we donated over 3,855 meals to 16 local charities through our partnership with OzHarvest Gold Coast, along with supporting over eight philanthropic and awareness causes. Throughout December, GCCEC’s annual internal Christmas drive encouraged team members to provide gifts for neglected and abused children to support Act for Kids culminating in over 120 gifts donated.
Promoting a hands on approach, part of a wider campaign to encapsulate the spirit of giving through teamwork and creativity, a workshop was set up resulting in bikes assembled from frame up, donated to eight Gold Coast children in need aged 8 -10 years old. The health benefits of cycling extend beyond physical activity with kids’ mental health and development paramount. It boosts self-confidence, encourages independence and its fun – something all children should experience. Additionally, over 40 gingerbread houses were built, decorated and donated to OzHarvest ahead of the festive season.
We were thrilled to partner with Act for Kids, an organisation instrumental in protecting the innocence of childhood. Our joy is knowing that our small gesture brought smiles to many little faces.
