Visitors to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) will be treated to a wide selection of new menu items this year, as GCCEC launches a new menu compendium, including more than 500 items.
With a focus on local and seasonal ingredients, the kitchen team has spent months designing, trialling, and defining a menu offering that caters for all palates and includes healthy options for both plated and buffet events.
Executive Chef, Garry Kindred is dedicated to serving restaurant quality meals whether it’s an intimate dinner for dignitaries, or a conference for thousands. “I’m very proud of the quality and range of meals that we serve our guests. The team works closely together to ensure the menus offer high nutritional value while allowing for flexibility,” says Garry.
“Although we have hundreds of pre-planned menu items, we also work with our clients to create bespoke menus to suit a themed event, and of course budget,” he continued.
A recent conference for the aesthetic medicine industry, renowned for providing exceptional experiences, worked with Garry and the team to produce a tailored Greek menu for the Welcome Reception, and an Arabian Nights gala dinner.
“Our delegates have travelled the world and eat in the best restaurants, so they have high standards. The Executive Chef and team delivered above and beyond, and we appreciate the level of care they took. They also appreciated that our audience like a low carb, low sugar, high protein menu and he catered accordingly,” said Gina Samuels, General Manager of Melbourne-based The Production House Events.
The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre has had a strong start to the new financial year, serving thousands of meals to guests attending the Cruiserweight World Title match, 2 conferences (including Food Tech), several lunches and menu tastings for upcoming large events.
