The Great Gatsby' Jazz Dinner Dance will be held on the 10th of May to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor?s Service Queensland. The event will showcase the best of the roaring twenties with dancers, musical entertainment and special guest speakers. The event is run by HOPE4HEALTH and Griffith University in celebration of 80 years of RFDS service in Queensland. Last year the same team organized the 'Out of Africa' Jazz Dinner Dance which raised over 60,000 dollars for a hospital in Ghana, West Africa. So book your ticket and help out this great, Queensland institution. The Jazz Dinner Dance is a black tie event that includes an award winning, three course meal and a high quality selection of drinks.

| Pan Pacific Masters Games 2008 |

The 6th Pan Pacific Masters Games will be held from 1 to 9 November 2008 on the Gold Coast. An anticipated 10,000 participants from all over the world will compete in the multi-sport event which is held at the beginning of November every two years. 34 sports will be on the program with team sports including softball, touch football, soccer, basketball and baseball to individual sports ranging from swimming, athletics, tennis and cycling, to name a few. No qualifying standards or times are required to enter the Masters Games. The only criteria is that participants meet the minimum age requirement for their respective sport, which for the majority is 30 years of age. All sports are in close proximity to the Games Village ? Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre - which will feature live nightly entertainment, a sport's expo, fully catered hospitality and a venue for the Games sportspeople to socialise, meet up and enjoy the camaraderie the event is renowned for.
