Jupiters Limited's policy on the management of personal
information. It is our policy to comply, and we take
steps to comply, with the National Privacy Principles
("NPP's") of the Commonwealth
Privacy Act.
In this document, "we," "us" and "our" refer
to Jupiters Limited, and to organisations in the Jupiters
Group, and "you" and "your" refer
to individuals from whom we might collect personal
information. The various Jupiters Limited divisions
and contact details are listed at the end of this policy.
We have also included contact details for Conrad Treasury†,
Conrad Jupiters† and Jupiters Townsville Hotel
and Casino.
Definitions of terms in
the Commonwealth Privacy Act, such as "personal information" and "organisation," also
apply in this policy. This policy may be updated by
us from time to time, and you should refer to these
web-sites (, or ) for the most current version of this
policy.
Jupiters has a number of divisions, each of which
has a different function. This policy applies generally
to all of Jupiters' divisions. For more specific information
about the management of personal information by a particular
division, please refer to the contact details for the
division concerned, which are located at the end of
this policy.
The following paragraphs outline our policy in relation
to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal
information.
COLLECTION
We may collect personal information
in the course of our businesses. We do not collect
information unless it is necessary for a business purpose
or function, and we do not collect information by unfair
or unlawful means. Where practicable, we collect personal
information directly from the individual concerned.
Sometimes, we may collect information about individuals
from others who might hold that information, such as
credit or bank references. Whether we collect personal
information from an individual or from elsewhere, we
take steps to deal with that information in accordance
with this policy.
STORAGE AND TRANSMISSIONS
We take steps to make sure that
the personal information we hold is stored securely.
Those steps include storing paper records in a physically
secure place, and using appropriate access and audit
controls in relation to our information systems. When
we use a web site to collect information, and that
information could be misused if disclosed, we use encryption
technologies to prevent that information from being
read or altered by another person while it is in transit.
USE
We use the personal information
we collect for the purposes for which it was collected,
and for other purposes where that use would be allowed
under the Privacy Act.
We also analyse the information we collect from time
to time, in order to improve our business and our products
and services. The analysis is performed on aggregated
information, not information relating to specific individuals.
If we use personal information for direct marketing
purposes, we do so only in respect of our own products
and services, and special offers for our Casino Rewards
and Jupiters Rewards Club members. In addition, each
time we contact you in this way, we will ask whether
you wish not to receive any further direct marketing
communications of that kind. If you advise us that
you do not wish to receive information of that kind,
we will comply with that request. Please note that
although we will act on such requests promptly, there
will be a period of time while we update our records,
during which you may receive other similar communications.
We do not disclose personal information to others
for the purpose of direct marketing by them.
DISCLOSURE
We may disclose personal information
in the following ways:
• We disclose personal
information if we are legally required to do so.
• We share some
types of personal information within our corporate
group (that is, between divisions) when that is a
necessary consequence of the use of the information
for purposes for which it is collected. For example,
personal information may be transferred to Jupiters
MIS Division, which has the responsibility for maintaining
Jupiters' corporate information systems.

• We may disclose personal information to others when they provide services
for us. For example, we disclose personal information to the organisations which
send our mail and conduct our market research.

• We may disclose personal information with other casinos or companies to
enable historical background checks to be carried out if you apply for an account
with us.
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE
We are committed to providing a secure environment
for all visitors to our casinos. With this in mind
our casinos are under constant video surveillance.
Details of suspected illegal and undesirable activities
on our premises are shared with other casinos, law
enforcement bodies and regulatory bodies such as the
Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation.
ACCESS AND CORRECTION
If you become aware that personal
information we hold about you is incorrect, and you
advise us, then we will correct it. You can let us
know by contacting the relevant division detailed below.
If we disagree, we will allow you to add a note to
our files that you disagree with the information held.
ANONYMITY
The industries in which we operate
are the subject of strict Australian government regulation.
For this reason in many circumstances, we are unable
to allow transactions or payments to be anonymous.
However, where it is practicable, and where government
regulation allows, we allow transactions to be anonymous.

policy, or about the accuracy of personal information,
should be directed in the first instance to the division
