Q: When is the building open to the public? back to top
A: The public can only access the building when there is a public event on, or when purchasing tickets from the box office or making enquiries at reception.

Q: What are the operational hours of the GCCEC? back to top
A: The GCCEC's general operation hours are 0600 to 2200 Monday to Sunday. Operational hours are determined by events held at the Centre.
The GCCEC is under 24 hour surveillance.

Q: When is the GCCEC Main Reception Area open? back to top
A: The GCCEC Reception hours are 0830 to 1700 Monday to Friday. The Reception hours are determined by events held at the Centre.

Q: What are the operational hours of the Ticketek Box Office, on site? back to top
A: Ticketek Box Office is open Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700. It is located adjacent to the GCCEC Main Reception area. You can purchase tickets online at www.ticketek.com or call 132 849.

Q: Is there wheelchair access? back to top
A: Yes, the GCCEC has wheelchair access to all areas of the building, and main access entrances, including lift access from the car park where there are ample disability bays in the carpark and specially-designed bathrooms on all levels.

Q: Does the Centre have Automatic Teller Machines (ATM's)? back to top
A: Yes, there are two ATM's situated in the Exhibition Hall Foyer area located between the Arena and Exhibition Halls by the elevators.

Q: Is there internet access? back to top
A: Yes, there is an internet kiosk in the main foyer area. The GCCEC is Telstra WiFi Hot Spot, therefore delegates can log onto the internet anywhere within the Centre wirelessly.

A: Yes, there are public phones in the main foyer area.

Q: Are there food and beverage outlets at the Centre? back to top
A: There are no restaurants, coffee shops or retail outlets on site. There are coffee shop and concession food facilities available during public events.

Q: Are there Restaurants within walking distance? back to top
A: Yes, there are over 60 restaurants (opposite the GCCEC) in the dining mecca of the Broadbeach precinct.

Q: Is there accommodation close by? back to top
A: Yes, few destinations have such an extensive selection of accommodation for visitors. Choose from the award winning Conrad Jupiters hotel-casino complex, the Sofitel Gold Coast, Sheraton Mirage, the unique design of Palazzo Versace or the Surfers Paradise Marriott. In addition, a range of five, four, three and two star hotel accommodations are scattered within a 20 minute drive of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. A: There is a flat rate car parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle for public events.

A: Visit the What's On page. The What's On page is updated regularly and is the best source of information for upcoming events to be held at the GCCEC. From this page you can be linked to purchase tickets online. You can also subscribe to receive regular updates on events at the GCCEC.

Q: Who owns and manages the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre? back to top
A: The GCCEC is owned by the Queensland State Government and is managed by Jupiters Limited which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tabcorp Limited.

A: The GCCEC opened on 29 June 2004.

A: Due to the high volume of requests we receive from students for information, we cannot reply to each request individually.  The website is a great place to find the latest press releases, events and general visitor information. Our media page contains the most up to date news articles and media releases, archives and links to other sites which may help with your studies.

Q: How can I get to the Centre? back to top
A: The GCCEC is located in the heart of Broadbeach on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and TE Peters Drive.

If driving from Brisbane along the Pacific Motorway take Exit 71, which is Nerang Broadbeach Road. Travel along this road until you past the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and turn left onto the Gold Coast Highway. The GCCEC entrance is only 300 metres north on your left.

If travelling by rail from Brisbane alight at Nerang Train Station. Bus, taxi and limousine services are available to connect you to the GCCEC.

If travelling by air into Gold Coast Airport, bus, taxi and limousine grounds transfers are available. If you hire a car travel north along the Gold Coast Highway, you will not miss the GCCEC on your left when you reach Broadbeach.

Parking

The car park entrance is at the northern end of the building, accessible from traffic lights off the Gold Coast Highway and the main driveway off TE Peters Drive.

Undercover car spaces are available for short-term parking.

Public Transport

Local bus, coach, taxi and limousine companies operate regular services to all major attractions, hotels and shopping centres.

There is a bus stop directly in front of the GCCEC on the Gold Coast Highway. There are also taxi and limousine ranks at the main entrance.

You can also access the rail line to Brisbane via a bus from Conrad Jupiters.

A: The GCCEC caters for meetings of varying sizes, small, medium and large. A small meeting will be given the same commitment as a large meeting. The meeting rooms cater for small meetings, launches, seminars, board meetings, cocktail parties and small banquets from 10 - 200 guests. We have a sales team dedicated to the local, national, international, and entertainment

Q: Is there a dedicated event planner's area? back to top
A: Yes, we have two dedicated event planner's areas. The first being the Event Planner's Office located in the main foyer entrance near reception. This is a 40 sq metre dedicated office space with registration desk and reception area, back office area, separate media lounge and amenities. The second area is an exhibition planner's office which is located at the northern end of the building near the exhibition halls.

A: Yes, awarded Australia's Best in Convention Centre Catering in 2005, our kitchens are HACCP compliant, state-of-the-art in-house catering facilities. We have one main kitchen and eleven satellite kitchens strategically located thorough the Centre for easy of delivery access to events.
The GCCEC team pride themselves on working with the client to create an experience that suits their event theme, vision and budget.

Q: Does the GCCEC have on-site audio visual and event production services?

A: Yes, the GCCEC's has a preferred on-site audio visual and event production supplier, Staging Connections. The Staging Connections team is located on-site and works as part of the GCCEC. Therefore, offering an intimate knowledge of the Centre.

Staging Connections is Australia's principal event production company, and is on site at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Staging Connections, deliver business event audio visual and theming for conferences to exhibitions, product launches to gala events, incentives, award nights and many more. With a full time technical crew and a large inventory of equipment on site at the GCCEC, expert help is never far away.

Q: How many people are employed at the Centre? back to top
A: The GCCEC has approximately 50 permanent staff and on a casual basis we employ approximately 150 staff.

Q: What is the involvement of Gold Coast Tourism? back to top
A: Gold Coast Tourism can assist with arranging pre and post touring for your delegates or Partners Programs for your spouse. They can also suggest leisure activities.
